I decided that I'll only vent when something goes terribly wrong. The rest of time I lend my thoughts on movies or albums I previously viewed/heard. Today's installment will be about Waiting for Guffman.
How funny is this film? The setup and cast is virtually identical to A Mighty Wind and Best in Show, but it's still hillarious. It may be b/c I have a drier sense of humor than the surface of Mars. Although, I have no empirical evidence my gut tells me I'm top 10.
The amazing part to me is finding a way to make the film work. When we shot one of our films in class we tried this premise and it was DIFFICULT! Getting good powerful scenes to go along with the documentary pieces is tricky. The mockumentary takes skill that I have not yet developed. Probably won't because it seems to be a special talent, but practice makes perfect.
Well, it's late Friday and I'm going to bug some coworkers before I split. Rock on
