Saturday I made a pretty rash decision to go out and purchase a PS3! I'd say it was a bad idea, but I love movies and crystal clear high-definition pictures. Now I have both combined with the Blu-ray technology developed by Sony and my Sharp Aquos. I had almost bought a HD DVD player when they were dirt cheap the day after Thanksgiving but something told me to wait. I can't recall the exact reason although my brother-in-law had warned me that Blu-ray would probably win. Blu-ray won and now I'm current.
Currently I am waiting on Space Odyssey 2001 to appear in my mailbox for the first Blu-ray disc to be played in my house. I have a feeling that it will be absolutley and utterly ridiculous. Kubrick's imagination is probably the best I have ever seen. I don't know how he developed sets the way he did. The other imagination was Arthur C. Clark's in writing Space Odyssey. He's on my mind now especially since they buried him yesterday. He might not have been a religious man but he held firm to his beliefs. I'm excited about the arrival and can't wait to experience it.
I did watch To Kill a Mockingbird last night. Good film. The innonence of the children is absolutely beautiful. The father raised those kids exceptionally well for the times. I understand it was a movie but that's how I felt my folks raised me. Sad part is people aren't raised that way even in modern times. It's a shame.
Until later
